Photos from the exhibit

On July 11, my friend and I drove up to Narrowsburg where I met with 3 friends from the area. We had a very small, brief, socially distanced viewing before I took the show down and packed it up for the trip back to Brooklyn. Here are some photos, courtesy of Rocky Pincotti, David Gardiner and Ann Finneran.

Opening reception cancelled

Taking into account the present circumstance of the COVID-19, the opening reception for my exhibition that was scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled.  At the time of this writing, the DVAA gallery still intends to remain open, but only on Fridays and Saturdays 10am - 5pm. They will be closed the rest of the week.

We are currently exploring the possibility of extended exhibition dates and a postponed reception.  I will let you know when I find out.

As we move blindly through this unprecedented rapidly unfolding situation, please stay safe, be well, do what the experts recommend and hopefully I will see you on the other side.

Best wishes,
Camille

Hands on Love, is a pop-up exhibition at The Living Gallery (1094 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY) September 22nd – 24th 2017. This exhibition is a selection of artists from the open call by the Love Yourself. Curated by Charlotte Mouquin of CharVoz: Studio & Projects and Richie Richardson the artist, designer, and cultural producer.

In conjunction with the Bushwick Open Studios, Hand on Love is an exhibition with works that uplift through self-empowerment and global consciousness. The messaging says, it’s okay to be you, there is power in love, self worth is important, you deserve the best, love and accept yourself!

The artistic collaboration of Eve Mueller & Lisa Levy confronts these concepts head on with portraits by Mueller of people that are often marginalized combined with quotes from Lisa Levy’s paintings with sayings such as “I am comfortable with how neurotic I am” and “I don’t give a fuck what color your skin is.”

A large photos collage and painting by Kate Fauvell “We are A Nation of Immigrants” shows the outcry of protest that we are all people who deserve to live as such within our national and global communities. “The Mask Within” a large black and gold leaf painting by Eketerina Abromova confronts the masks we wear in our everyday lives, and the duality within.

“I’ve Totally Flipped” a new photo piece by Arthur Really has a light switch flipped in the direction of Me, verses You. The new print edition “Big Bang Boom” depicts the ultimate power of love and creation exploding. This new print edition was also realized as a full mural in Wynwood Miami in 2017.

This exhibition will be open to the public on the Bushwick Open Studio Tour, Friday September 22nd 6-9pm (opening reception). Saturday September 23rd 12-6pm, and Sunday 12-6pm (artist discussion 2-5pm.) Supported by the Love Yourself Project

There is also a ticketed ($25) fundraising event “Vibrations II” pulling together
musical performers, DJ Dick at Nite, performance art by Nyssa Frank and Mario
Galeano, Saturday September 23rd from 7-12midnight. For more information and tickets please visit – www.loveyourselfproject.org
